پسران
The word "پسران" holds a depth of meaning that transcends its simple dictionary definition. It refers to sons, boys, or male children. However, in its true cultural and emotional context, it embodies a universe of familial pride, patriarchal lineage, future legacy, societal expectation, and the complex, often burdensome, weight placed on male offspring in traditional South Asian societies. While seemingly a neutral plural for "son" (بیٹا), "پسران" carries with it the echo of inheritance, the responsibility of carrying forward the family name, and the perceived honor and security that male progeny bring to a household. Its usage often reflects a mindset where the birth of sons is celebrated more lavishly than daughters, and their upbringing is geared towards becoming the pillars (ستون) of the family.
