متحرک پرزے
Moving parts; mechanical components that are designed to move relative to each other; dynamic parts of a machine, engine, or mechanical system. متحرک (mutaharik) is an adjective meaning moving, mobile, dynamic, or in motion, derived from the Arabic root حرک (hark, movement). پرزے (purzay) is the plural of پرزہ (purzah), meaning a part, component, or piece, typically of a machine. Together, متحرک پرزے refers specifically to those components within a mechanical assembly that are not static or fixed. These include pistons, gears, bearings, camshafts, valves, belts, chains, rotors, and any other component that rotates, reciprocates, oscillates, or slides. In engineering contexts, the phrase is critical because the behavior, wear, lubrication, and failure analysis of moving parts are fundamentally different from static structural components. In everyday Urdu, the phrase is used by mechanics, engineers, automotive technicians, and anyone discussing the functioning or malfunctioning of machinery from car engines to ceiling fans to wristwatches. The opposite concept is "ساکن پرزے" (sakin purzay, static parts) or "غیر متحرک پرزے" (ghair mutaharik purzay, non moving parts). The phrase has a neutral to slightly technical polarity, with no inherent positive or negative judgment. However, when someone says "متحرک پرزے خراب ہو گئے" (the moving parts have broken), it becomes strongly negative. When a mechanic says "متحرک پرزے ٹھیک ہیں" (the moving parts are fine), it is reassuring and positive.
