ادب عالیہ
High Literature, Belles-Lettres, or Canonical Literature; referring to the most esteemed, artistically accomplished, and intellectually profound body of literary works within a culture that have withstood the test of time. This term encompasses writings distinguished by their superior aesthetic quality, philosophical depth, linguistic excellence, and their capacity to address universal human concerns, thereby earning a permanent place in the cultural and educational canon. It is the antithesis of "ادب پستہ" (popular or pulp literature), representing instead those works deemed essential for cultivating a refined intellect, moral sensibility, and cultural literacy.
