زواجی خبط
Conjugal delusion; a pathological or irrational belief related to marriage, spouse, or intimate partnership; a psychiatric symptom characterized by fixed false beliefs about one's marital relationship. زواجی (zawaji) is an adjective meaning conjugal, marital, or relating to marriage, derived from the Arabic root زوج (zawj, meaning spouse or pair). خبط (khabt) is a noun meaning delusion, obsession, mania, or irrational fixation, derived from the Arabic root خبط (khabata, meaning to strike wildly or to be confused). Together, زواجی خبط refers to a specific type of delusional disorder where the content of the delusion revolves around the patient's marriage. This can include delusions of marital infidelity (pathological jealousy, also known as Othello syndrome), delusions that one's spouse is poisoning them, delusions that the spouse is plotting against them, or delusions that the spouse has been replaced by an impostor (Capgras syndrome focused on the spouse). The term is used in psychiatry, clinical psychology, forensic medicine, and marital therapy. It is a formal, technical term with strongly negative polarity, as it indicates serious mental illness that often causes severe marital distress and can lead to domestic violence or homicide. The opposite concept is "سالم ازدواجی فہم" (saalim izdwaji fahm, healthy marital understanding) or simply normal marital trust. The phrase is rarely used outside of clinical settings, but when used, it carries heavy weight.
